What is Sciatica?
Sciatica refers to pain that radiates along the path of the sciatic nerve — the longest nerve in your body — which runs from your lower back through your hips and buttocks and down each leg. Typically, sciatica affects only one side of your body and can range from mild discomfort to severe, debilitating pain.
The pain most commonly occurs when a herniated disc, bone spur, or narrowing of the spine (spinal stenosis) compresses part of the nerve. This causes inflammation, pain, and often numbness or weakness in the affected leg.
Common Causes of Sciatica
Herniated Lumbar Disc
The most common cause, occurring when the soft center of a spinal disc pushes through a crack in the outer casing.
Spinal Stenosis
Narrowing of the spinal canal that puts pressure on the nerves traveling through the lower back.
Degenerative Disc Disease
Age-related breakdown of spinal discs that can irritate or compress nerve roots.
Piriformis Syndrome
When the piriformis muscle in the buttock spasms and irritates the sciatic nerve.

Our Treatment Options
Epidural Steroid Injections
First-line treatment delivering powerful anti-inflammatory medication to the irritated nerve roots.
Selective Nerve Root Blocks
Targeted injections to specific nerve roots for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
Radiofrequency Ablation
For chronic cases, uses heat to interrupt pain signal transmission.
Spinal Cord Stimulation
Advanced option for severe, treatment-resistant sciatica.
